A word from the President

Dear Members,

Following our recent committee meeting, we believe that it is time again to re-introduce the Moulding Your Career courses run at Lidcombe TAFE. When PIMA ran these coursesseveral years ago we had a tremendous participation rate from our members. If you have had a new person join your team that may not have a plastics background, then why not send them along to the Introduction to Plastics Course to learn a little more about the industry that they now work in. Maybe even to brush up on some knowledge. The course will run for a full day and will include lunch and breaks.

We are also looking for interest to participate in the Supervisor’s Course. If you feel that this is something that could benefit your company, then please send your interest through to
PIMA via email.

We are calling for nominations this year for the PIMA Young Achiever award. This award acknowledges the contribution of the younger members of our industry. If you feel you have a young achiever, then please put their nomination forward.

Yours sincerely,

Grahame Aston.

PIMA President

PIMA Annual Charity Golf Day 2017

To all members & friends,

It's on again, the BEST golf day in the Plastics Industry (maybe in any industry).

FRIDAY 19th MAY 2017

Bankstown Golf Club 70 Ashford Avenue, Milperra. NSW

Please Note: we have arranged for 50 carts! every pair of players gets a cart and the cost is included in the ticket.

It is a day designed for golfers, choppers, hackers & those who just want/need "to get out there & smell the roses". There is also a separate "mixed team" event so don't forget the ladies. A qualifying mixed team only needs one lady.

Bring your staff, your customers, your suppliers or your friends. If you do not want to play golf, how about coming to the dinner - this year we have again added entertainment that is sure to amuse.  Please assist by booking early - if you are not sure of who is going to play in your team/s or what level of sponsorship you would like to take, please let me know of your intention to attend/sponsor.

Regards,    Ralph Cable

PLICKS

NEWSLETTER

29 March 2017

This month the Plicks held their 157th Dinner Meeting at a delightful Indian Restaurant, "Ginger" in Harris Park. It was a typical Plicks meeting marked by intelligent conversation amongst good friends with common interests, over an interesting cuisine.

Plicks is a fellowship, founded in 1976 for Plastics industry people. The name is an acronym for: Plastics Leisure Increasing Collective Knowhow. Meetings are held quarterly at a Sydney restaurant chosen by a member and can be of any cuisine style.

Eligibility for membership is straightforward. Be involved in the Plastics Industry; be a good fellow with a sense of humor; enjoy good food and fine wine. The Plicks Committee exercises discretion in deciding suitability of a proposed member. And that's about it really. The Plicks motto summarises its character: "non multa sed multum". Literally - "not many, but much".

So, if you think that you would like to join this elite group speak to a Plick and let us know.
