Dear PIMA

I am hoping to get some urgent advice on plastics manufacturing in Australia.

I am involved in a start-up business that has built and successfully trialled a solar thermal desalination unit. The key components are made out of polypropylene and are currently being hand-welded in Germany. We have been encouraged to apply for a government grant so we could manufacture the units in Australia (deadline 31 August 2018) but we are struggling to find someone who can provide us with expert, independent advice on the best way to manufacture what we need.

Could you please suggest someone? Obviously, it is a paid job but we just need it done quickly! Somebody independent is probably best because if we need to outlay some significant capital for new machinery to do it in-house, that’s not out of the question. Alternatively, if someone could build what we need in Australia, that would be great too.

Again, apologies for the group email – we are just on a tight timeline.

Please don’t hesitate to call me if you have any questions.

Thanks in advance.

Damon
